Services
Mostly unglamorous monthly work. That's the job.
Bookkeeping, tax, payroll, CIS, VAT. Done on time, every month, so you don't have to think about any of it. Most clients bundle it into one fixed monthly fee.
Records that are ready when you need them
Bookkeeping used to be an annual tidy-up. Since MTD it has to be right every quarter, so we keep it right every month. The deadline stops being an event.
- Bank feeds connected directly, so nothing is typed in twice
- Receipts captured and matched automatically as they arrive
- Transactions categorised against your trade and your history
- The bank reconciled every month, so March holds no surprises
- You see the same live figures we do
Why the trade knowledge matters
A generalist codes a fuel card payment as motor expenses and moves on. In a haulage business that same payment might need splitting between fuel, AdBlue and a driver's personal spend. Small thing. Do it wrong for a year and the accounts are fiction.
This is most of the reason we only take on four sectors.
Annual accounts, corporation tax and Self Assessment
Limited companies
Year end accounts to Companies House, corporation tax to HMRC, confirmation statement. We file early where we can, because knowing your tax bill in advance beats finding it out in the last week.
Sole traders
Your tax return, prepared with the deductions your trade actually allows. Under MTD this is now the final declaration that follows your four quarterly updates.
Directors and individuals
Personal tax returns covering dividends, property, employment and capital gains, planned together with the company's position rather than separately.
Paying people, without the monthly panic
We run weekly and monthly payrolls, including the awkward ones. An agency where headcount changes every week, or a site crew that's half PAYE and half CIS, is a normal Tuesday here.
- Payslips issued to your staff directly
- RTI submissions to HMRC on every run
- Auto-enrolment pension assessments and uploads
- Starters, leavers, P45s and P60s
- Statutory sick, maternity and paternity pay
Construction Industry Scheme, both sides of it
CIS is where we find the most money left on the table. Usually it's tax that was already deducted at source, sitting there unclaimed.
If you're the contractor
- Subcontractor verification with HMRC
- Monthly CIS returns filed on time
- Payment and deduction statements issued
- Checks that your workers are genuinely subcontractors
If you're the subcontractor
- Every deduction logged as it happens, not hunted for in April
- CIS suffered actually reclaimed at year end
- Gross payment status applications where you qualify
- The VAT domestic reverse charge handled correctly
VAT returns and the scheme that suits you
Returns prepared and filed
Quarterly VAT returns prepared from your bookkeeping and filed under MTD for VAT. You approve the figures before anything is submitted.
The right scheme
Cash accounting, flat rate or standard. We check the scheme still suits you as you grow, because the one that fitted at registration often doesn't fit three years later.
Reverse charge and registration
The construction reverse charge handled properly, plus advice on when registration becomes compulsory and whether registering early is worth it.
The conversations that actually change the numbers
The filings tell you what already happened. The useful conversations are about what happens next, and on Complete and Premium they're part of the fee.
- Monthly or quarterly management accounts you can act on
- Whether to incorporate, and when it stops being worth it
- Salary and dividend planning for directors
- Cash flow forecasting before a quiet season, not during it
- Getting your accounts into a shape a lender will accept
What we won't do
We don't sell aggressive tax schemes. And if a service of ours isn't worth it for you, we'll say so. Plenty of sole traders have asked us about incorporating and been told to stay exactly as they are.
A fixed fee makes this easy: we don't earn more by finding you extra work.
Not sure what you need?
That's what the first call is for. Tell us how the business runs and we'll tell you what's worth doing, and what isn't.
